Agroforestry News!

July 2, 2023. Open house at Rio Anderson and Richard Amerson’s permaculture farm in Benbow.

The timing will hopefully be perfect for the Nigra elderberry bloom and Canadesis budding out with maybe some peaks at Cerulea blooms too. At least you'll see beautiful elderberry plants in a home garden and forest farm setting. Information about the open garden will appear on the event page when the planning is complete but the date is July 2nd. Please leave any ideas or thoughts in the comment section.

ISF Knows You Always Wanted To Start A Nursery

In promoting an elderberry industry it became very clear that we first needed a nursery industry focusing on our native Cerulea "blue" elderberry and other native agroecosystem plants for restoration and homestead use. This is also a goal of ISFs forest communities economic strategy. Soooo I decided to jump in myself to see what I was requesting others to do. My fledgling nursery will have its first opening at the farm tour and plant sale on July 2nd. It will have ISF elderberry and chestnut stock as well as black cap raspberries, hawthorns, concord grapes and other surprises for your forest farm. Other plant vendors are welcome too. leave me your contact info with your ideas in the comment section.
