The Seed, Plant & Scion Exchange is back!

This year the Fruit Tree and Scion Exchange will be held at the Seed and Plant Exchange on March 11th at the Arcata Community Center from 11 am to 4 pm.

It’s time to prep your fruit wood for the upcoming 2020 Scion Exchange.

Here are some guidelines and tips for collecting scion-

 -Cut only past year’s growth (no wood older than one year).

-Store in a plastic bag with moistened paper in the refrigerator.
-Label well.

-Asian /Japanese plums and pears sap can begin to flow and flowers early so cut within the next two weeks (early January).

-Apples and European pears and plums can be cut a week or so before the exchange.
